I stumbled upon FMS when I was starting a Blucher project with my friends, I've always liked small scales visually and the micro scale battlefields Zach has on the site sold me immediately. Not long after I heard that the new edition of Lasalle was coming up and I had to start a side project of 1:1 scale realistic Lasalle, as it is battalion scale I could fudge the numbers so I get pretty close to realistic distances. With BW of 40mm I can do ground scale of 1/805 so I can get the terrain and the unit width the "true" size, atleast according to my admittedly shallow research. I'm gonna treat everyone as french in terms of unit size and formation lenght so I don't go mad with simulation, the game has to be playable too!
Here are a few test miniatures, they are going to be mounted on 40x15mm bases (or 80x15 for artillery) but the bases haven't arrived yet, I'll figure out the basing details when they do.
General

Cavalry

Artillery

And infantry

These are way harder to paint than I expected, and even harder to photograph but I think I managed somewhat.
Not sure if I should paint some detail on the infantry, they still have to read as "blue" so painting the bayonets or too much white for pants or shirts will affect playability, I still need to do a few flags to check for scale and looks and figure out how I'm going to do them, Lasalle has 4 bases per unit so either the flag is off centre or between 2 bases and I'm not sure which I want.
