So, I've had an idea mulling around in my head for quite a while and I'm wondering if I can get some advice on here to steer me in the right direction.
So, one of my favourite IPs is the Mutant Chronicles universe (some of you may know the Warzone 28/32mm skirmish games or the RPG sharing the MC name), where massive human corporations take on each other and hordes of shambling necrotic soliders in the form of the Dark Legion.
Now, as fun as skirmish games are, there's so much in the lore of the universe that hints at larger battles, with artillery, orbital units, air assets etc. I would like to try to put together a game for this, so my question is, what rules sets are out there that I may gain 'inspiration' from to try and put a homebrew ruleset together. My current knowledge is limited to Epic 40k as a rule set, but I just don't know any other sci-fi rule sets that suit 2mm.

Dirtside 2 by GZG (Ground Zero Games) might be just the ticket for you. Another option is Planetfall by Spartan Games. There is also Sabot by Mike Fischer. If you want to take a trip down the rabbit hole there is Strategic Operations by Catalyst Game Labs. These are my top picks.

I would second Dirtside as an excellent set of rules. You could also take a look at "Alien Squad Leader" by Alex Self. Designed for 15mm the figures are multi based in units so could very easily be replaced by a host of 2mm figures.

Horizon wars by Osprey might be an option. I've read some mixed reviews but I think its still worth an investigation, as it may depend on what you are after in a game.
