Because of my Champion Hill project with my Battlecry (Command&Colors) rules variant, here the first test/explain turns.
1a) The first arriving Union troops (Logan´s Division) advanced immediately against the (still) weak defensive positon of Lee´s brigade. In a first range combant the Yankees couldn´t hit the CS Artillery, but forced it to retreat.
1b) In following counteraction the rebels moved the ART in front again and invoked another regiment from the rear. General Lee attached to a regiment.
2a) With the double movement of "Infantry Forward", three Yankee regiments moved into close combat, two other followed.
Now the rebels played "Assault", which was drawn in the turn before and could activate 10 units! This was used to combat the Union front with ranged fire, but also to invoke more units from the rear. After the ranged combat the position of the rebels improved (at least temporary). That much to the first turns. What´s the realizing so far.
The rules works, because they quit of such details as formations on an "army-level" game (therefore i absolutely like the Command&Colors boargame series/rules).
I have only adjust the number of battle dice, because my Infantry regiments consists only of 3 stripes (original planned 4). Also the Artillery has less single bases as planned. But this adjustment should be done fast and without problems otherwise the close combat would be to bloody.....
