Ian here from a very wet England, looking around the forum and what has been posted here already this looks like it will be a great site and a fantastic resource for the future. I have just got myself an Anycubic Photon resin printer and already printed a few of Zachs fantastic buildings and will be printing off lots more in the future

Thanks i might take you up on that. I am interested in WW1 and would definitely say that 2mm is the way to go for big battles. I have created a OOB for a generic army around 1916 as i am wanting to create a set of rules to go with a possible book on the Somme. What i want to do is first prove the rules using the original as a gold standard hopefully the rules wlll give me similar results to the real battle. I then want to fight a few "what if" battles to see if victory was even possible, which i suspect it never would be. For example i know from the historical record that the original plan was for the battle to take place in September but the German attack on Verdun brought that date forward as well as increasing the frontage that the British had to fight over. Then Haig was wanting to use Tanks in the battle from day one and had 150 on order for september which he had been advised to use on mass in order to get maximum surprise value. And also tactics were evolving at the same time, the Somme saw the first limited employment of the rolling barrage by delaying till September more troops would be able to be trained in its implementation. The Third Army was also a largely conscript army that was fighting a battle for the first time and so the methods used were limited due to lack of training. Delaying till September would allow more training hopefully giving a more skilled fighting force. And then finally I would like to see what would happen if you gave the modern army free reign to fight the battle using the original equipment but using modern tactics where possible to this end I would like the junior officers from my local regiment to refight the battle.
