This exhibit is the direct inspiration of the FMS range, actually. I wanted to create building models at a scale where you could recreate towns in the same sort at 1:1 scale. These are really interesting in person. Also interesting in a small annex room just to the side that contains the tools they used to make the things. They used a hand-cranked grinder to grind up silk to make the grass, for instance. I wish they would restore them though; they've lost almost all of their color at this point, and are almost entirely gray. Or maybe that's short-sighted, haha. But, if you're in Paris ever, these are definitely worth checking out, along with the rest of Les Invalides.
