Hi all I've been trawling Thingverse looking for suitable buildings. I really admire the FMS buildings but variety is the spice of life. Here's some I have attempted to match to FMS buildings. After a bit of trial and error I found the best way was to open some of the FMS individual buildings in my slicer and then import these and match the size.
Forward match buildings are labelled FM in the pictures. I haven't cleaned them up except remove some brims, as I only have one working hand.
Resized to 31% of original
These are great and look good as rural buildings perhaps in Holland/Belgium.
All the buildings from this range
Resized to 35% of original
Okay though the windows look big and the chapel could be printed at a larger scale.
More buildings soon.

And another tonight www.thingiverse.com/thing:867323Church France Champagne by Planet3D I tried 70% and 50% and am now printing it at 60%! My googling failed to turn up the real version but this is a beautiful model. The photos dont do this justice.

Here's another set of buildings I printed out. Ignore the bad lines, that was a mechanical issue with my printer.
Resized to 30% (could have been 32%)
Nice buildings and the style matches Forward March buildings well.

This is a great post! Do you mind if I link this over to TMP and Lead Adventure? I think it would go over well there.

Yes you can. I have more examples to add but cleaning up and painting will take a while.
I was also going to start a thread at Lead Adventure and TheWargamesWebsite once I clear some other projects.

Hi all
I've been slack updating this but now I have some more that I have printed. These are 1/1200th colonial buildings form thingverse which i scaled up by 133% great models to print and I've gone for one suitable for Europe.
I've cleaned these up and given the a light sand and filled in a few places. FMS building for reference
Military HQ
I had some problems printing this and there seems to be some gaps in the model. It could be my Slicer though.
Government Building
Cloister This is a very nice model
Great models all round and I'll post some more soon

Very cool - I'm quite amazed by the quality of all these - for someone (me) who grew up in 2mm a bazillion years ago, when *everything* was so limited, it's amazing to see this kind of development!
(I just need to figure out a way of getting things printed cost-effectively in the UK - I simply don't have time / energy / knowledge to invest in my own printer - which I know is the biggest disadvantage in the world of Zach! I need to find a solution...)

Well its been a while but I have finished some buildings.
The Church I found on Thingverse and the Cloister was from a 1/1200th colonial buildings set also on Thingverse.
To paint them I used a white undercoat and tried out the new GW contrast paint "Skeleton Horde" on them. The colour and shading was very nice but it didnt work very well on the smooth surfaces and tended to bring out the poor parts of the print. But it was very quick - two coats followed by some touch ups and then highlighting.
Overall I'm very happy with the colour and the finished buildings especially when the 2ft rule is applied!
